Elements of a Capsule Wardrobe: Chambray

I have always been most comfortable in my own skin wearing jeans. A few years ago when I began experimenting with the ten item wardrobe concept, I discovered the versatility of a chambray button down shirt. I bought a utility style chambray, which happened to cost less than twenty dollars, and wore it weekly for three or four years until I finally had to replace it. My recent replacement also happened to cost less than twenty five dollars and will be in my weekly rotation.

The beauty of denim is how gracefully it ages. Worn denim is as classy as brand new denim. I loved Allyson Noriega’s off-the-shoulder chambray version, shown with other staples such as navy and white stripes and a straw tote bag.

The purpose of a capsule wardrobe is to make getting ready in the morning effortless. Join the conversation on Facebook or comment below and let us know your staple items for summer.
